Great package for the price!! - We (party of 2) did a 3N4D amazon tour with this company. The package they offered for the price was amazing.
They arranged the transfer from hotel to... read more the companx and return to the hotel. We wanted to go see the pink dolphins and visit the indigenous tribe. They arranged all this for us. Our guide Jimmy was amazing and the stay was with a family called (Ribamar), was amazing. The food was really delicious. We camped a night middle in the jungle. Definitely worth it.
Thank you for showing a human face! - I'm writting this review to say thank you for rescuing me from very dengerous situation. Originally I hired a guide who cheated on me. He took my money and then... read more without knowing the area, without any preparation, any shelter in rainy season, with no food provision, wanted to stay in the bushes for several days. But this company had a good heart and saved me from that terrible sittuation. They offered me a place to sleep, good food and all attractions they offer to tourists so I could kiss a crocodile, hug sloths, camp in the jungle and swim with delfins. I really appreciate their help. THANK YOU!
Joy of missing out - Visiting Brazil shouldnt miss Amazonia part. For a number of days I was looking for the company that can arrange almost full 4 days for my family (two adults and... read more two teens).
Why we selected AMBJ? Fast response time, program that was fully customized to match our needs, reasonable price.
Few pros:
- guide called Elmo. Of course he knows all local/english/latin names of all birds/ants/caymans/plants/etc. That was not surprising. But he has such a wide knowledge about culture, history of Brazil and whole world - he could easily win "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?". He is great partner for any type of disucssions, knows how to make the trip so interesting. You can feel like with very good friend that introduced you to his hobby. Stunning experience.
- nature. We swam with pink dophins, fish piranhas, saw caymans/monkeys/howlers/10000 birds/grey dolphins/bullet ants/capibaras .
- locaton. Tiny wooden lodge (Ariau lodge) few meters from the river will give you real feeling being in the jungle. No single person in nearby. Lodge fits 6 guests only in three rooms on single beds. Water to drink is sealed, so dont be afriad. Rooms are equipped with nets to prevent mosquitos
- food. I can tell you that even Elmo was suprised by the quality of the food. OK, this is not 5* hotel, but selection was able to comfort everyone.
- safety. Quite new cars, comfortable canoes, Manaus guide watching permanently if no pickpockets in sight.
Cons .hmmmm
- They forgot to mention to bring rain coats 🙂 It could rain .oh yes .it could rain like crazy
- trip through jungle could be organized two times 🙂
- some may say that feeding monkeys with 2 bananas or swimming with dolphins harms the nature . OK, possibly you are right, but then most likely you should not travel to Amazonia.
We selected three and half day yourney (three days and three nights in jungle plus half day in Manaus) . Managed to see all what was promise: meeting of waters (Manaus), all animals, jungle forrest excursion (approx 3 km), swimming with dolphins, visiting the indian tribe (bit fake when I saw TV antenna in one hut:) ) fishing piranias, etc .even going beyond offering to see sunrise. After return to Manaus they organized a trip around the city. Of course transportation to the airport is also included.
Big respect to local team in Ariau lodge supporting Elmo eg Levir. Guys are really doing their best to show what promise. Also team in Manaus keeps you totally satisfied.
Thank you to all of you.
